Goodbye Huntersville, NC!

Hello Park City, UT! We will miss North Carolina immensely. It is the place where: we began our official married life together, I attended PA school and practiced as a PA, we had 2 beautiful girls, we made life long friends, Curtis started his career, we built our house, we fell in love with triathlons, and much more. Moving as a kid is hard, but moving as an adult is even harder because you actually have to make the decision. It was definitely one of the hardest decisions I have made but it was the right one. I didn't sleep for weeks thinking about all of the reasons why I didn't want to leave and at the top of that list was people. We have been so blessed to be surrounded by such amazing friends, neighbors, ward members, and co-workers. We are thrilled for the opportunity to see our family more often and I'm looking forward to being a full-time mom. Curtis is excited about his new job working for a venture fund called Peak Capital. We hope to visit NC often but if not I'll regularly be "goin' to Carolina in my mind".

Our friends sent us off in style with a BBQ and ward open house. We had originally planned to drive the van with Calla and send Ashtyn on a plane with my mom. However, the auto shipping company never came to get the truck so at the last minute my amazing mom volunteered to drive with us! We had both vehicles completely stuffed and we made the 30 hour trip in 2 days. We ran into completely flooded roads in Missouri but had an uneventful trip otherwise. I spent most of the time in the back with the girls while my Mom and Curtis drove. Curtis had some "business calls" so he conveniently drove by himself in the truck for most of the trip. We celebrated our anniversary the first day of our trip and my Mom's birthday on the second day! Calla survived the trip with Ariel and Ashtyn grew fond of Baby Signing Time. My favorite part of the trip was flinging poo out of the potty seat in the middle of Wyoming and driving on the frontage road that looked like a scene in horror movie. We survived!
