We have a new favorite fall activity, apple picking. Last weekend it was a beautiful fall day so we headed up to Hendersonville to a huge apple orchard on top of a mountain. It is the end of the season so we basically picked the last of the apples in the entire orchard. Most people weren't able to fill their baskets but Curtis was an excellent tree climber and Calla was the perfect size to get all of the low hangers so we got a full basket. Not that it really mattered since you could buy huge bags at the store there but we felt accomplished! We finished our apple picking adventure with a picnic and apple cider slushies. Apparently the orchard is famous for their apple cinnamon doughnuts but we didn't find about them until we were leaving and the line was over an hour long! We'll be sure to do that first next year.
