One of our favorite things to do every spring is to go strawberry picking! The highlight of the event is the fresh strawberry shakes we always get as a reward. This year the picking went by quickly with my mom, dad, and Calla helping out. We picked a ton so now I'm trying to figure out what to do with all of them. I've made jam, strawberry shakes, strawberry waffles, and froze a bunch. Calla had a blast and ate more than she picked. She likes eating the entire strawberry, stem included. She took a pit stop to fix her shoe and decided to sit down right in the middle of the strawberry patch. She took home a nice "strawberry butt" to show for it!
